About BASINGSTOKE'S HERITAGE CAPTURED • Our Team
• Website Policies
The Basingstokes Heritage Captured website aims to highlight the town of Basingstoke and its rich culture over the decades through photographic images.

Basingstoke, which is located in South East England was originally a small market town with sheep pens in front of the station. It was chosen as a London overspill expanding town in the 1960’s and has gradually grown into a mini city in the heart of the town in 2018, with most of the tall unused commercial office buildings in the centre being converted into residential apartments and now has a population of 113,776 in 2016.

The Jewel in the Crown of Basingstoke must be its Canal - the last 5 miles into the town. Anybody who has walked the old route from Eastrop Park, through Old Basing and then on to Up Nately cannot but wonder at the natural beauty that they encounter along the way as they pass each of its hump backed bridges.

Basingstoke has been our home town for many decades and has enriched our lives in many ways. The town offers many opportunities for newcomers in every aspect of living, and they would be given a warm welcome.

This website was launched on Saturday 15th December 2018 and aims to give the visitor a flavour of what it feels like to be a Basingstoker".
